Weird food

OK - up until now I've just had the normal run of the mill food cravings like pizza (I could eat that every night..) and grilled cheese.

But ever since the funeral last week where all the church ladies made the usual WI church dinner fare I have had this absolute need to find the recipe for this green whipped cream salad that my aunt used to make for every holiday. I always thought it was called waterloo or waldorf salad. But when I look either of them up - it's not what I remember. All I can remember is that it was green with whipped cream, marshmallows and pineapple.

I might just have to try and make it up and see what I get.

BTW - Had our 30 wk check up yesterday and everything still looks great!!! (knock on wood) I am just floored at how well this pregnancy seems to be going. My MFM even said yesterday that he felt like I was going to make it to full term and that PE wasn't going to show up this time at all!!!

Yum!

Waldorf salad is fresh cut apples with mayo, walnuts and sometimes celery. One of my favs!

The one you are thinking of could be with instant pistachio pudding.

There is also one with cool whip, marshmallows, mandarin oranges, orzo pasta that is quite good.

And I am glad pe is no where to be seen

Oh my gosh I know *exactly* what you mean! My gram makes it for holidays for some reason. I'm pretty sure the green is just coloring - and sometimes she does red at Christmas :) It's going to bug me all day trying to think of what it was called!

And, wonderful, fabulous, INCREDIBLE appointment. Imagine - no PE at all?!!!! Crazy! I'm thrilled for you and am pulling inspiration from you. Wishing with all my might that your MFM's feelings prove correct.

Is it something like this??

Cottage Cheese Jello

1 (24-oz.) Container Small Curd Cottage Cheese

1 can Crushed Pineapple-drained

1 (6-oz.) Box Lime Jello...(note: I use different flavors and it still is good)

1 (12-oz.) Container of Cool Whip

Put Cottage Cheese in large bowl. Add dry Jello and Pineapple, combine well. Fold in Cool Whip. This can be prepared at the last minute and served immediately.

Oh, and I guess this would be the red one :)

Ingredients
1 lb small curd cottage cheese
8 ounces Cool Whip

1 (3 ounce) box jello regular raspberry gelatin powder (not sugar free)

1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice

Directions

Mix the dry gelatin powder with the thawed cool whip.
Add the cottage cheese to the mixture and mix well.
Drain the pineapple chunks in a sieve and add to the mixture and chill.

So does that sound like the recipe, the one that Bluebird sent you? I new it wasn't Waldorf which is actually really good. Glad to hear that all is well with your pregnancy.

Bluebird - that does sound pretty much like what she makes. I didn't remember the cottage cheese but it was probably in there somewhere!
